Why does it seem that some of the blogs have all the readers and you are getting hardly any hits on your site? You may feel of being no where in your blog’s niche and there are chances that you start losing your interest in your own blog due to low number of readers. After all, what’s the use of writing when no one is reading it?
Hay! don’t get dishearten. You got a good blog with chances of being great. You just need to focus on its weak areas to make it worthy to read.
Let me ask you a question. Why do we read a blog? or more precisely, if I ask, why would YOU read any blog?
Because it got an information you can’t find it anywhere else or it got interesting, useful and valuable content or its just a blog maintained by your friend and you just want to appreciate his writing. Well, there can be many answers but mainly its the CONTENT that forces us to read or leave the blog.
I think you got my point to some extent. Now, take a look at your blog and review at least the following areas.
1- Blog posts are usually categorized using categories, sub categories or pages. These provide an easy access to readers to their required topic and posts within that topic. For example, if you are looking for some blogging tips at blogriser.com, you know exactly, where you can find these, by looking at the categories menu. Did you categorize your posts using any of these?
2- Do you maintain ”About me” page? It gives any blog a personal touch and readers can feel the person behind all the hard work. This page will also give you an opportunity to be recognized and appreciated in a global way.
3- Do you have enough number of posts, if you are just starting out your blog? I would suggest you to write forty to fifty articles before launching your blog properly. Well, I started my blog with only two articles and in the result, I get advice from my early readers to write frequently. I successfully, bring people on my site using marketing tactics, but had nothing much to offer. So they just disappeared. I hope you don’t want to repeat my mistake of losing prospective readers.
4- The last thing that I would like to stress upon, is the “originality” of your blog posts. Try to write clearly and original. Nothing would harm your reputation than having content copied or similar to others. You can take ideas. Inspiration is a good thing, but don’t copy it, for your own blog’s sake.
I hope this would help you in some way.
Happy blogging!
Take care!
